New York’s Exempt Income Protection Act (“EIPA”) permits certain funds in deposit accounts to be exempt from most restraining notices and levies. The amount of the exemption is set by statute, and increases every three years based on changes in the Consumer Price Index. The exemption amount has increased to $2,750 for 2015.
